Event Coordinator Internship


The Event Coordinator Intern works within Family Care Network’s Community Resource Development Department, assisting with the coordination of at least one of our main events (Miracle Miles for Kids, Benefit for Kids, and Sponsor a Child for the Holidays). This is a paid internship that is eligible for college credit.

  • Business, Communications, Recreation, etc. majors preferred
  • 2 quarter required commitment (3 quarters preferred)
    • Must be able to work during normal business hours, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday
    • 12-15 hours per week
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, dependable, and have patience and perseverance
  • Pass a thorough screening process which includes:
    • Interview, 4 reference checks (at least 1 of these must be a recent or past employer)
    • Agreement to policies on confidentiality, child abuse reporting, activity safety and more
    • Live Scan (Fingerprinting), and a Child Abuse Index, Criminal Record Affidavit
    • Health/Drug Screen, TB Test
    • DMV printout of driving record
  • Attend initial Intern training and weekly meetings with Intern supervisor
  • Assist with planning and executing the logistical details for events including obtaining necessary permits and coordinating with venues and rental companies
  • Propose themes for event décor and implement ideas
  • Organize supplies and materials for events
  • Participate in community outreach and promotion efforts to help create awareness and build relationships.
