DEI Commitment
Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is Essential
Family Care Network is committed to cultivating and preserving a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion as essential to achieving our mission: “to enhance the wellbeing of children, adults and families”. As a community-based human services organization, we serve our community’s most vulnerable children, youth, adults, and families in their efforts to reach their full potential with dignity and increased independence. We understand that cultural differences, educational disadvantages, economic inequalities, language barriers, and other societal factors directly impact an individual’s access to and utilization of essential support and resources. Therefore, in everything we do—from direct service delivery to community engagement—we must actively participate in dismantling systemic barriers, stigma, and discrimination experienced by those we serve, those we employ, and those of underrepresented groups across our service area. We are dedicated to having open, inclusive, and equitable engagement with disproportionately impacted groups to build collaborative relationships and partnerships that will best serve our clients and staff and will foster a stronger more compassionate community for all.
We acknowledge and value the intersections of race/ethnicity, gender identity and expression, socio-economic status, sexual orientations, ability, age, national origin, and religious/spiritual identities. We embrace the power of diversity and its pivotal role in driving success for our clients, staff, and our broader community. We recognize that being strength-based, solution-focused, and culturally responsive in both our internal work culture and in our direct service approach requires us to build upon an individual’s strengths and incorporate their unique background, experiences, and perspectives to better support their personal success and as a catalyst for positive agency outcomes. Our dedication to diversity extends beyond a moral imperative; for us, it is an essential principle that is ingrained in our policies and practices, our services, and our engagement with our community.
