Growing Safe & Healthy Kids!

April is our national “Child Abuse Prevention” (CAP) month. This is truly a meritorious focus since children are our most valuable resource. When our children grow up Safe and Healthy, there is an 85% chance that they will become positive contributors to society, and not consumers of public resources. Let’s face it, child abuse and neglect is unconscionable and produces severe damage through the trauma impact on the children who’ve been victimized.

I Am a Child: Part II

“I am a child, I'll last a while. You can't conceive of the pleasure in my smile. You hold my hand, rough up my hair. It's lots of fun to have you there...” Children, each an amazing gift, are totally dependent on parents for love and comfort; for life and survival; for health and safety; for training and development; and for joy and laughter. Every child embodies innocence, creativity, imagination, energy, unique skills and talents, and unimaginable potential. And yet, on the day you read this article, eight children in America will die of abuse and neglect. It’s unimaginable.

Violence – When Will We Learn...

There has been much written and spoken about domestic violence and child abuse recently due to recent incidents involving NFL players. It’s unfortunate that it takes a sensationalized incident to bring into view a chronic societal problem; but, that’s not surprising being that it hits very close to home for a lot of people. You know, out of sight, out of mind. Incidentally, October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month!
